Quantum offers support including an outreach service to assist with information, advice and referrals for adolescents who use violence in the home in the Baw Baw, Latrobe and Wellington areas.

Quantum Specialist Family Violence Youth Worker can support women and their adolescent young person aged 12 – 17 years who are using violence in the home. In partnership with Specialist Family Violence Case Management, support is offered to enhance family safety by assisting the young person to understand and regulate their behaviours and develop a sense of empathy and compassion for self and others.

The program is a voluntary program and offers assertive outreach to the young person; referrals to therapeutic services and groupwork; risk assessment and safety planning; and, advocacy and liaison with the intent to achieve positive outcomes for the young person to reside safely in the family home. This program uses a person-centred approach focussing on the young person’s development and to reach their own identified aspirations and goals

The program will also provide secondary consultation to other programs where the young person using violence is not living or planning to return to the family home.
