Foster Care – Foster a Child, Nurture a Future
Overview:

Quantum Foster Care Team Vision

We envision children and young people in Gippsland’s Out of Home Care System have safe stable and loving homes and relationships that promote healing from trauma through positive attachments.

What is Foster Care?

Foster Care is provided by people in their own homes for children and young people aged 0-18 years who cannot live with their families.

Why do children need Foster Care?

Children come into care for a variety of reasons, including poverty, lack of support, disability, mental illness or medical issues, homelessness, family crisis, abandonment, neglect, drug or alcohol issues, physical, emotional or sexual abuse.

All children in foster care require safe loving & supportive care whether its for a few days, a few weeks, a few months or even years.

Some Foster Carers provide respite care for as little as one weekend per month up to longterm. Foster carers are able to decide what suits them best.

In 2018 there were over 12,000 children and young people who couldn’t live safely at home, unfortunately there were less than 1,000 foster homes available (Fostering Connections).

Why be a Quantum Foster Carer?

We care for and value our Foster Carers, they are an integral part of our Quantum Team.

It is this team work relationship that we foster with carers that promotes opportunities for children and young people to heal from their trauma and develop strong, healthy and positive relationships.

We care for our Carers as much as we care for kids.
