Quantum Support Services has welcomed Latrobe City Council’s decision to engage with the community as the next step to the proposed sale of Hazelwood House, Churchill.
Quantum Chief Executive Natalie McDonald said while Quantum was pleased to be listed as the preferred candidate based on the Expressions of Interest criteria, she was looking forward to hearing from the community.
“Quantum is proposing to use the site to provide affordable and sustainable medium-term accommodation for homeless and disadvantaged youth for people of the Gippsland region,” Ms McDonald said.
“This facility was identified in Infrastructure Victoria’s roadmap, Victoria’s Infrastructure Strategy 2021–2051, as critical for our region, and will give a dedicated and evidence-based medium-term solution for young people.”
Latrobe City Council’s community engagement process will be held over the next month, from Tuesday 7 June to Monday 4 July.
