Gippsland is set to benefit from a $3 million investment to provide critical crisis and transitional housing, thanks to the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF). This funding, part of the national Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program (CTAP), will deliver safe and secure housing for women and children escaping family and domestic violence, as well as older women at risk of homelessness.
Quantum Support Services has welcomed this significant investment, which will contribute to much-needed housing solutions across Latrobe City.
Quantum CEO Natalie McDonald said the funding was a crucial step in addressing housing needs for vulnerable Gippslanders.
“This investment will have a life-changing impact for women and children in Gippsland who are fleeing violence and seeking stability. Secure crisis and transitional housing provides a foundation for recovery, safety and independence,” Ms McDonald said.
Ms McDonald emphasised the importance of ongoing investment in housing and support services.
“Housing is fundamental to breaking the cycle of violence and homelessness. This funding will allow Quantum and our partners to expand vital services and ensure that those in need have a safe place to turn to,” she said.
“Through this funding we will be able to purchase four houses over the next two years, enabling us to provide immediate, safe housing and work towards long-term solutions.”
