There was a fantastic turn out of people, organisations and students from respectful relationships schools (5 in total, Special mention to Drouin Secondary College for the big turn out) attending the walk for “Calling it Out for a Violence Free Victoria” in Warragul. This was to raise awareness of gender equality and to call out disrespectful behaviours that can lead to gender violence.
This event coincides with 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual global campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December. It aims to raise awareness and encourage action for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls across the world.
The walk finished off with a free BBQ run by the Warragul Rotary Club.
Along with Quantum this event was a co-ordination of local organisations aiming to stop gendered violence.
