THE PROGRAM –

The Private Rental Assistance Outreach Program Plus (PRAP Plus) provides strength-based case management support for up to 12 weeks to assist to establish and maintain tenancies for people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in our community.

 

THE ROLE

Assist community members to establish successful tenancies in private rental.

Intervene to support community members when tenancies are at risk.

Provide advocacy at VCAT where required.

Attend inspections with community members when initiating and vacating premises.

Assisting the community member to liaise and negotiate with real estate agents, including understanding rental ledgers and reporting maintenance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE – what you will bring.

Demonstrated relationships with local Property Managers, including a sound knowledge of the private rental market in Gippsland.

Demonstrated practice working within the ‘Residential Tenancies Act’.

Experience in attending the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal on behalf of tenants or Landlords.

Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check |Police Check

Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work (or trauma related field) and experience appropriate to the field (refer to Position Description).
